The current building of the Persian Language Center (Kanoon-e Zaban-e Parsi) was the residence of Dr. Mahmoud Afshar (the endower who passed away on 28 Azar 1362 SH) and his wife, Mrs. Nosrat Barazandeh (who passed away on 4 Aban 1384 SH). Mr and Mrs Afshar lived at this location from 1315 SH until the end of their lives. The property was renovated by the Council of Trustees in 1384 SH for the purpose of housing a museum and an exhibition and hosting literary and historical lectures. The residence was subsequently renamed the Persian Language Center, and its auditoriums were named in dedication to the memory of the endower couple.
